Modern Coastal Home Remodel
Edmonds, WA
This remodel was designed to bring the outdoors in and make the most of the home’s coastal setting. Light, views, and flow guided every design decision, transforming the space into one that feels open, calm, and deeply connected to its surroundings. The result is a home shaped around how the family lives day to day — relaxed, welcoming, and rooted in place.
The Story
Set along the Puget Sound, the home’s original layout didn’t fully reflect its surroundings or the way the family wanted to live in it. The remodel focused on opening sightlines, softening transitions between spaces, and using materials and finishes that feel natural rather than overly styled.
Every design choice was made with daily life in mind — from how light moves through the home to how spaces connect for gathering, relaxing, and simply being present. The finished home feels coastal without being themed, modern without feeling cold, and designed to age well alongside the people who live there.
My Role
I led copywriting for Home Run Design + Remodel’s website, writing the entire site from the homepage to project features. My work focused on shaping a cohesive brand voice and telling clear, human stories about the homes they design and the people who live in them.
Selected Writing Excerpt
